Illustrator Chart

I am struggling to upload an SVG file and while I spent a lot of time in Illustrator I did not end up changing that much. I want to figure out a way to rotate the pie so the largest section was on the upper right, but did not figure that out. Instead I changed fonts and drew bubbles with connections to the data, but I am not sure that I improved the chart according to Tufte's principles.
